Will I need to attend driving school if I have a foreign driver's license?

All internationals will need to attend a driving school and take a 14-hour pre-licensing course. Before taking the course, you must visit the Louisiana OMV and obtain a Temporary Instructional Permit.

Applicants must take the general knowledge test and the road skills test through a driving school and present proof of completion to the Louisiana OMV, then you will only need to pass the vision test. Applicants may have an interpreter to translate for him/her during the examination process.
